Earlier in 2021, Patient & Williams approached Computer Clinic to report that they were wanting to implement a new WFH (Work from Home) policy for their staff and wanted to ensure that the firm was adequately covered with protections & safeguards for this to be set up and configured. They asked us to advise if they could implement the policy with the IT systems as is.

Well, due to still having some older PCs on the network this was not possible. However, we offered a near bulletproof solution with a full rollout plan - this was accepted.

The PCs that were older were quickly replaced with fully up-to-date Windows 10 PCs. The current remoting in solution with 2FA (2-Factor Authentication) directly to the PC’s, was ‘good’, but we took it to the next level.

Now, when Patient & Williams staff want to work from home, their PC/Mac must have company-approved Anti-Virus. Then, we implemented our double 2FA system; Trusted VPN Provider -> 2FA -> Remoting in -> 2FA.

In a nutshell, their connection is authorized to the internal P&W network, and then connecting to their PC to remote onto this must also be authorized. Minimising network holes, and maximising security.

Patient & Williams is one of the best examples of an implemented IT system & in-place IT policies to allow their staff to remote in and work from home securely.
